Where can I use my TCU ID card?
The TCU ID card gives you access to many things on campus: recreational sports, student union activities, access to computer labs, athletic events, going to the Health Center, vending machines, copiers, TCU Bookstore, access to your residence hall and laundry (if you reside on campus), as well as security access.
Your ID card is also programmed with your dining pass plan so you will use it at all of the dining facilities on campus. It also holds funds that can be used off campus at participating dining establishments.

What if my TCU ID card is not working correctly?
Come by the ID Center when you are experiencing problems with your ID card. The most frequent problem is within the magnetic stripe on the back of your card either becoming demagnetized or being damaged.  Please note that because it is a magnetic stripe, it can be easily deactivated if exposed to a magnet, strong battery (as in cell phones) or other bank cards.

TCU ID Card Access

There are many places on campus which require a TCU ID card to gain entrance to a facility or event:

  • Resident Halls
  • Library
  • Free admission to athletic events for students
  • Music practice rooms
  • Computer labs
  • Health Center
  • Student Center activities
  • Student Employment
  • Recreational sports / Intramural Sports
  • TCU Music/Theatre performances
  • Special lectures and events

When does my TCU ID card expire?
As long as you remain enrolled and pay your fees at TCU, your TCU ID card will automatically activate each semester.  Students are responsible for keeping their card in good condition, whether they are currently enrolled or sitting out a semester.

What do I do if my card is lost or stolen?
There are three ways to deactivate your card. You can:

  • Log onto www.my.tuc.edu, click helpful links, click “Frog Bucks” and click “Report a card lost”. You can also re-active a card reported lost at this site.
  • Call the ID card office at (817) 257-7856 or
  • TCU Police at (817) 257-7777 to have your card deactivated

Any charged made before the card is reported lost or stolen are your responsibility, so report it immediately.

What happens if my card is found and turned into the TCU ID Card Office?
If your TCU ID Card is found and turned into the TCU ID Card Office you will receive an e-mail from us letting you know that it is in our office - Room 2033 of the Brown-Lupton University Union.

Where is my money?

You may notice after adding additional Frog Bucks or Campus Cash that the funds don’t seem to be appearing in your balance at the cash registers.

Dining funds are separated into sub-accounts much like having separate checking accounts. Each “fund type” i.e. Swipes, Frog Pass Bucks, Campus Pass Bucks, (the ones that came with your dining plan) Frog Bucks, Campus Cash (ones added outside the dining plan) all sit in separate accounts. The funds that are non-refundable (swipes, Frog Pass Bucks, Campus Pass Bucks) will be depleted before the additionally added, refundable funds are used.

Unfortunately the registers can only read one account at a time. You can check all of the balances on all your accounts:

Simply log onto my.tcu.edu
Click on “Helpful Links
Click “Frog Bucks
Check The “I Agree” box
Press “Continue
Click on: CURRRENT BALANCE

I bought a Starbucks coffee in the bookstore. Which funds got used?
The answer is none. Anything that is purchased inside of the bookstore-books, make-up, t-shirts, and even coffee will all be billed to the students account. No dining plan funds, Frog Bucks or Campus Cash will be used to pay for a purchase made in the bookstore.

We’ve run out of Frog Pass Bucks and/or Campus Pass Cash…what do we do?
When a student runs out of Frog Bucks or Campus Pass more can be purchased outside of the dining pass plan. When students look at their balances online these will be referred to as “Frog Bucks” or “Campus Cash”- and the ones that came with the Frog Dining Pass will have the word “pass” in the name, i.e Frog Pass Bucks, Campus Pass Cash. This allows us to easily identify these funds as being purchased outside of a dining pass plan. Unused Frog Bucks or Campus Cash purchased outside of a dining pass plan are refundable at the end of the spring semester.

How do I add more Campus Cash?
A student must bring their ID card to the ID card center and request Campus Cash. The amount the student requests will be billed on the next billing cycle. These funds can only be used on TCU’s campus in locations such as the library, the rec center, the Corner Store, or any of the on-campus dining facilities.

How do I add more Frog Bucks?
Additional Frog Bucks may be purchased online using a MasterCard, Discover or American Express. (TCU does not accept Visa.) Please click on the tab “Frog Bucks at your Fingertips” for instructions. Frog Bucks can also be purchased using the already mentioned credit cards or a check by visiting the ID Center. Frog Bucks can be used on campus and at off campus locations that can be found at www.tcufrogbucks.com.

Can Frog Bucks be billed to a student account?

NO

The state of Texas law states that because we are not a lending institution we cannot extend credit outside of our own facilities. Because Frog Pass Bucks and Frog Bucks can be used at off campus locations, they must be paid for before they can be used.

Is there anything else I should know?

Listed below are some do's and don'ts about using your TCU ID Card:

  • Do know where your TCU ID Card is at all times.
  • Do carry your card with you.
  • Do come in and get a new ID if yours is not working properly. There is no charge for replacing an old, worn ID. However, there is a $20 replacement fee for lost or misused IDs.
  • Don't mistreat your TCU ID Card. While the TCU ID Card can serve many functions, there are some things it was not designed to do (scrape ice off windshields, pick locks, play tug-of-war with the puppy, etc).
  • Don't alter the appearance of your TCU ID Card. This includes, but is not limited to: writing on, hole punching in, scratching information off of the TCU ID Card.
  • Don't allow someone else to use your TCU ID Card. Possession of another student's ID card may be considered a violation of University regulations and could subject both the user and the card owner to disciplinary action.
