The Basics - ID Card Benefits and Service

International Recognition

Endorsed by national and international organizations, the ISIC, ITIC and IYTC (not available at the TCU location) are issued in more than 100 Countries around the world. Cardholders receive immediate recognition of their student, or teacher status and are rewarded with special privileges, discounts and concessions, which this status brings.

Travel Insurance

Cardholders who purchase a card in the United States receive valuable travel insurance for travel outside of the US as one of the many card benefits. This insurance includes coverage for Emergency Medical Transportation, Repatriation of Remains, Accidental Death & Dismemberment, Accident and Sickness coverage, Passport Replacement coverage and Baggage Delay insurance. Please see the Certificate of Insurance or www.MyISIC.com  for a detailed description of coverage and exclusions.

Reduced Airfare

Cardholders are eligible for specially negotiated student, teacher and youth airfares on recognized major airlines. Reduced rates and flexible airfares are available for both domestic and international travel. Please contact a specialized student travel provider for details. (Note: All fares are subject to availability and some airlines set age restrictions for special airfares.)

24-Hour Traveler’s Assistance Help Line

Cardholders have access to a toll-free help line for medical, financial and legal emergencies while traveling outside of the USA.

ISIConnect

Included as a value-added benefit on all International Identity Cards is ISIConnect, a full-featured suite of communications services. This includes email, voicemail, fax service, discounted international calling services and a virtual document storage service.  Cardholders can activate an ISIConnect account by visiting www.MyISIC.com (All cardholders receive a $10 bonus of calling time when they activate calling services with a minimum $20.)

Student Discounts

ISIC and ITIC holders receive discounts on transportation, accommodations, attractions, tours, museums and other services in the US and abroad. There are more than 28,000 discounts and services available to cardholders around the world. A complete listing of discounts is available in the “Cardholders” section of www.myisic.com.

Replacement Cards

The ID Cards department does not replace lost or stolen cards.  The cardholder is however still covered by the insurance until the card expires.  We highly recommend that cardholders make a photocopy of their card and store this in a safe place.  Another recommendation is to register their cards at the www.myicic.com site.  Proof that the claimant is indeed a cardholder will be required to file any insurance claim after a card has been lost or stolen.  In order for the cardholder to take advantage of all other discounts and benefits the cardholder will have to purchase a new card.
